I had mentioned last week that I had found a neat little device to measure the levels of radon in my house. Since we spend most of the time in the basement level, I had tested this level first. I found out it was above the accepted level of 4.2 as it came in at 6.5. Needless to say, my wife and I will be getting this mitigated. But I decided to measure the levels on the second and third stories. Those levels turned out to be within in the guidelines at 3.2
This made perfect sense to me as the basement level is on a concrete slab which means it sits closest to ground level and granite rock. It's nice to know that the gas seems to dissipate as it rises.
