April 13th, at 6:30pm, the american cancer society relay for life of cashiers will officially get underway as even volunteers and participants gather at the cashiers community center for a kickoff rally to launch their fund raising efforts for the year. The main cashiers relay for live event is planned for august 3-4 at the village commons.

Tambuini's restaurant is now open in downtown Cashiers, NC. They will be open 7 days a week. They will be serving breakfast and lunch and dinners. Same owners also owned the daily bread diner which was a big success.
The cashiers historical society just purchased what was known as the old cashiers schoolhouse. The school was built in 1910. The schoolhouse will serve the growing needs of the historical society.
So on Saturday night, we had a bad storm in the area. On the following sunday, there was trees uprooted and other damage in the Glenville are at the interection of Pine creek road and North Norton. It has not yet been determined if it was indeed a tornado.
New Listing just came on the market in the Cashiers location yesterday. This is a Wells Fargo REO property, located at 272 Wildcat Lane in Cashiers, NC.
