I spent the end of 2011 at a little lounge called the Cork and Barrel in Sapphire, NC. They offer a very cozy atmosphere, Bar area, back lounge area and a multitude of Televisions. We had good service and most of all, a good time. For more info on their hours of operation, call 828-743-7477

I just took a look at a new listing getting ready to come on the market. It's located in the Lake Glenville, NC area. 2003 Custom mountain home on 22 acres. The home is very rustic and there could be short range mt views with trimming. There is also an old storage shed and another septic tank installed for RV hookup which is a big plus. The list price is going to be 349,000 which is an amazing deal and i don't think it will last.
So there are a few locations that will be having New Years Eve festivities. The Gamekeepers Tavern in Sapphire, NC will be having a set meal plan and music. The Sapphire Brewing Pub will be having party favorites and live music and then finally Mica's in Sapphire, NC will be having a select menu and live music.
So if your looking for an eye doctor in the Cashiers area, there is only one, Looking Glass Eye Center. With that being said, they have a limited amount of days that they open this office as their main office is located in Brevard, NC which is about 45 minutes away. I have been seeing them for about 4 years now, and I highly recommend them. My doctor of preference is Dr. Christianson, as he was the founder. Wow, what a difference in the weather from 2010 to 2011 in the Lake Glenville / Cashiers Area. In december 2010, we had 12 inches of snow on christmas day. The temps were cold and the snow was heavy. This sharp contrast to 2011 december as christmas day, we had temps in the low 50's and today, december 26th, our high temp will be low 50's again. I do beleive we are going to have a mild winter and I don't think we will have many heavy snows.
The friends of the Albert Carlton Cashiers Community Library are planning a chocolate cook off on Feb 11 2012. I think this will be a good a event as it's occurring right before Valentines Day. Wow, I had lunch today at the Sports Page in Highlands,NC. The have a great selection of deli sandwhiches, salads, and salads. Great, quick place for lunch. 828-526-3555
